A Memory Upgrade for Your Brain

Robin Casady - R.I.P.

Robin Casady, the founder of Casadyware, Inc. and Casady & Greene, Inc., has died.

His brother sent me an email containing the following information: Robin died on October 5, 2020 after electing to end dialysis 10 days before. He declined gradually, got sleepy, and shut down. He was not in distress or discomfort.

After Casady & Greene went bankrupt in 2003, Robin and I started working on the publication of iData 2, using "iData Partners" as our organization name, because there were only two of us, and we were not an actual corporation.

The programmer/publisher of iData Pro and iData Mobile Plus has retired. There are no remaining iData Partners.

Please see the Transition Guide for the most up-to-date information. There is a link to the Transition Guide under the Help menu beginning with iData 4.0.49.

NEW    It turns out that it is not too difficult to copy iData Pro datafiles to display in Apple Notes. It will be important to copy the latest versions of all of your datafiles to Notes prior to each update to a new version of Mac OS. That way, if you cannot open iData Pro 4 in the new OS, you will at least have your data.

I've created a separate web page to explain how to do this. Click HERE.

iData Pro™

Requires Mac OS X 10.10 or later

iData Mobile Plus™

Requires iOS 9.5 or later

The Mac version of iData supports styled text, images, and movie files in the freeform text area.

In addition to individual records and entire datafiles, printing features include batch or individual envelopes and labels.

Phone numbers can be dialed through FaceTime, and —where practical— with a modem or through speakers.

iData Pro also includes synchronization of datafiles between two Macs or between a Mac and an iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch.

iData Mobile Plus is an iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch app that can be used by itself, or in conjunction with iData Pro on a Mac.

This is a rewrite of our iData Mobile app. It includes a number of improvements, the most notable being that it supports styled text and embedded images.

Images may be added from your Photo Library or from the Camera.
