Slender Gold is based on a variation of italic handwriting from the Renaissance. It differs from the most commonly known model, Chancery Cursive, in its long, pointed ascenders and descenders, which are quite difficult to write with the broad-nibbed pen. Slender Gold is named after a style of Chinese calligraphy created by the Emperor Song Hui-zong in the Tenth Century.
